I Want to Know Your Parents

A middle school student takes his own life and leaves behind a paper naming the students who bullied him. The parents of those named are called in to the school. What follows turns into a struggle that circles around that piece of paper. The parents talk about what can be done to protect their own children, and the matter quickly moves away from the wrong that was done. The film tells school bullying not as a matter among children but as an order built by adults. Whose word carries and whose voice goes unheard is the real subject. The work was adapted from a stage play. Sul Kyung-gu, Chun Woo-hee and Moon So-ri appear in Kim Ji-hoon’s hundred and eleven minute South Korean film, completed in 2022.
