What If a Thousand Clarinets Is About
A military base, a clumsy soldier and a statue of Bach standing in the yard. One day every weapon in the area turns into a musical instrument, and nobody can explain how it happened. The news soon reaches television; crews pour into the base, and the installation becomes in an instant the stage of an enormous television show. The film carries this idea along both with songs and by making fun of army order; a weapon becoming an instrument is treated not as a miracle but as a test. It was adapted from a work for the stage. Jana Brejchova appears in the hundred and thirty six minute Czechoslovak film by Vladimir Svitacek and Jan Rohac, completed in 1965.
