What If I Should Fall from Grace: The Shane MacGowan Story Is About
Shane MacGowan is a musician of Irish background. His childhood ran between Ireland and England. He came to music in the punk years. Then he founded The Pogues. The band put Irish music together with punk. He was the band’s songwriter. Years later he was pushed out of the band. He worked with The Popes afterwards. The documentary follows that road from the beginning. Archive footage and music videos are used. There are new interviews as well. His family speaks. So do his friends and former bandmates. What they talk about is the music, the stories that grew around him, and the drinking. Nick Cave, Victoria Clarke and his father Maurice MacGowan appear in the ninety one minute film, an American production Sarah Share finished in 2001.
