What In the Shadow of the Moon Is About
A documentary. It tells the Apollo missions to the Moon in the words of the astronauts who flew them. Among those speaking are Buzz Aldrin, Michael Collins, Jim Lovell, Alan Bean, Gene Cernan, Charlie Duke and Harrison Schmitt. Most of the footage comes from the NASA archive and a good deal of it had not been used before. There is no narrator, only those men and the record. David Sington directed. One person is missing: Neil Armstrong declined to take part. Its strength is not in technical detail but in what happens on old faces recalling their youth.
