What In Your Veins Is About
A woman working as a security officer tries to keep what she hides from her lover concealed; he is a policeman. That fact makes the relationship unequal from the start: one of them must know, the other must hide. The film does not build suspense by withholding what the secret is; it shows how exhausting hiding is in daily life. The account gives the distance between the two not through conversation but through silences. Their work forms the ground of the story and keeps putting them both in front of a rule. It was shot in everyday Swedish settings in a plain visual language. Malin Crepin and Joel Kinnaman appear in Beata Gardeler’s ninety two minute Swedish film, completed in 2009.
