What Open Hearts Is About

Cecilie and Joachim are about to marry. A road accident leaves Joachim paralysed and stops two lives at once. The family of Marie, who was driving the other car, comes apart as well: her husband Niels is a doctor at the hospital, meets Cecilie there and falls in love with her. Four people, one accident, and a guilt nobody planned. Bier shot it under the Dogme rules: handheld camera, available light, no decoration. It puts nobody in the wrong and shows how each of them turns selfish inside their own pain.
