What Innocence Is About
Andreas and Claire come together again after more than forty years apart. Andreas is a widowed musician who went looking for the great love of his life and found her; Claire is still married to her first husband John. The two find that the bond they had when they were young never broke, and they begin an affair as reckless as the one they had then. The film does not present desire in old age as an oddity; nor does it belittle the settled life Claire has built, and it lets nobody off easily.
