Under Construction

Ali and Sudi work on a building site in Istanbul. The man behind the building is Nizamettin, a driver for the mob and a man people are afraid of. One day they are left with a body on their hands and they bury it in the yard behind the site. It is not the last one. Before long the site becomes the place where the people the mob has cleaned up get quietly put in the ground. The two of them are in it up to the neck, and to get out they do the only thing they can think of: they invent a story about a sheikh. Ömer Vargı directs, with Emre Kınay as Ali and Şevket Çoruh as Sudi. It is a black comedy, it did well in Turkey, and a sequel followed.
