Ivan Brovkin on the State Farm

Ivan Brovkin finishes his military service. He is discharged with the rank of sergeant. He goes back to the village he came from. The welcome is not what he expected. The head of the collective farm is cold with him. So is Lyubasha, the woman he is to marry. Even his mother is hurt with him. The wedding that had been planned is called off. Brovkin leaves the village. He goes out to the steppe with friends, to land newly opened for farming. When they arrive the ploughing is under way. Brovkin joins a team and in time comes to head a tractor brigade. He spends the winter there. In his letters home he says things are going well, the news reaches the village, and Lyubasha begins to think about going too. The film continues a picture from 1955. Leonid Kharitonov and Tatyana Pelttser appear in the ninety seven minute film, a Soviet production directed by Ivan Lukinsky.
