What Jacqueline Sauvage: It Was Him or Me Is About
A television production. On 10 September 2012 Jacqueline Sauvage shot her husband three times in the back. The same day she learned that their son had killed himself. It was the end of more than forty years of violence, and it began the most discussed trial in France in years: Sauvage was convicted of murder, and after a long public campaign President Hollande pardoned her and she was released at the end of 2016. Muriel Robin plays her. Domestic violence, suicide, and where the law draws the line on self-defence. There is no comforting ending.
