What Jane Wants a Boyfriend Is About
Jane is in her twenties and has Asperger's. The older sister who has watched over her since childhood has decided it is time for Jane to build a life of her own. Jane wants to meet somebody too, but has no idea how that is done, and everyone around her is long used to deciding things on her behalf. William Sullivan refuses to place Jane anywhere pitiable or instructive, and Louisa Krause plays her without any performance of difference. The real subject is not the romantic comedy shape but the point at which a sister's protection turns into an obstacle. Nobody in it means any harm, and everybody bruises everybody else a little anyway. Eliza Dushku and Polly Draper round out the cast.
