Jatt & Juliet

Jatt is a mischievous but likeable man. Juliet is a modern Punjabi young woman. Their paths cross on the way to Canada. They see life so differently that the first meeting is a quarrel. But chance brings them together again and again. The hostility between them turns in time into friendship. Only when they are separated do they understand what it was. The film builds its comedy on the question of migration and settling. The hundred and forty minutes are spread across two countries. The account makes the motor of its comedy out of two people who see nothing the same way. What the separation brings is the turning point of the story. Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa take the leads, with Jaswinder Bhalla also in the cast, in Anurag Singh’s Indian film, completed in 2012.
