Punjab 1984

The film takes place in Punjab in 1984, while the region is going through a period of heavy violence. A mother begins searching for her son after he disappears. The boy has been caught in the middle of those days and a serious label has been attached to him; the mother simply wants her child back. The search goes on through government offices, police stations and acquaintances. Rather than entering the political argument of the period, the film looks at the state of the families of the missing and keeps the mother at the centre. Diljit Dosanjh and Kirron Kher appear in Anurag Singh’s hundred and fifty nine minute Punjabi film, completed in 2014.
