What Jump Tomorrow Is About
George is shy and painfully correct, and losing his head over the lively Alicia is the last thing his imminent arranged wedding needed. He swears he will do the right thing, and then falls in with Gerard, a lovesick Frenchman who does not stop talking and who dismantles George's sense of propriety on the way to a meandering road trip. Joel Hopkins's first feature is light, courteous and slightly odd, and it rests largely on how quietly Tunde Adebimpe plays it. A good example of the gentler strand of American independent film in the early two thousands.
