What Khamsa Is About
Eleven year old Khamsa runs from his foster family and goes back to the Roma camp where he was born. With his cousin Tony he dreams of getting rich on cockfights; the card games, the sea, the life of the camp, nothing looks as though it has changed. Then his closest friend Coyote meets a small time crook, and stealing scooters turns into armed robbery very fast. Karim Dridi does not judge the boy; he shows how narrow the choices in front of him are and how that narrowness hardens into a fate.
