Killer Bean Forever

A bean with a gun who thinks of himself as a hard-boiled noir hero takes apart a criminal organisation on his own. The real story is behind the screen: Jeff Lew did the animation, the modelling, the editing and nearly all the effects himself, and it took years. The result is technically uneven, with some fight sequences surprisingly fluid and other passages raw. The storytelling nods openly at Hong Kong action and eighties cop movies, and the humour is built on that. It found its audience online and became one of the best known examples of a feature animated by a single person. Who it is for: viewers who like independent animation experiments and absurd action. Who it is not for: anyone expecting studio polish, since this is one man's work and never hides it.
