What Klearhos, Marina and the short one Is About
Klearhos, a well off dealer in butter and olive oil, cheats on his wife Marina regularly and heads off her suspicions by pinning the blame on Mahos, his short son in law. The bigger the business gets, the more the lies tangle into one another, until they all start coming out at once. The film was adapted from a stage play and, in the year it appeared, was declared unsuitable for offending public morals because marital infidelity was its subject. It was produced by Finos Film, and the print was later restored digitally. Vasilis Avlonitis, Georgia Vasileiadou and Nikos Rizos appear in Nikos Tsiforos’s eighty six minute film, completed in 1961.
