Kuduz

A small time criminal comes out of prison, marries his girlfriend and builds a poor but straight life with her and her daughter. That order falls apart when his wife’s affair comes to light. Out of jealousy the man kills her and the man she was with, then runs into the mountains and stays free for months. The film does not tell that flight as a legend; it does not soften the killing and does not make a hero of the fugitive. How killing in the name of honour and jealousy gets excused is the matter lying underneath. The story sets out from a real person named Junuz Kečo. The mountain, the pursuit and how the village looks at the man are the material of the account. Slobodan Ćustić and Snežana Bogdanović appear in Ademir Kenović’s hundred and two minute Yugoslav film, completed in 1989.
