Elliot Scott B Blake Zwicker L Linda Lum What Kung Fu Elliot Is About
Elliot Scott, who lives in Halifax in Canada, has decided to become the country’s first action star; he makes fight films with his own means, casts friends he finds on the street and lives with his partner Linda. The documentary follows those shoots for two years. But as the film goes on, the stories the man tells stop holding together: the championships, the medals and what he says about his life come apart one by one, and the portrait turns into something else entirely. How much of the production was staged was also argued over. The ninety six minute Canadian documentary by Jaret Belliveau and Matthew Bauckman was completed in 2014.
