Land of Hope and Glory

The documentary is about animal farming in the United Kingdom. It carries footage from roughly a hundred facilities. Part of that footage was taken with hidden cameras. The film was made by an animal rights group called Surge. Ed Winters reads the commentary. It is built as an advocacy film. Its aim is to persuade the viewer to give up animal products. No opposing voice is given room. The makers describe it as a British answer to the 2005 documentary Earthlings. That earlier film dealt with the United States, this one with Britain. They say they wanted to answer the belief that such things do not happen in their own country. The footage is heavy and hard to watch. The film was released so that it can be watched free of charge. Ed Winters narrates the forty eight minute documentary. It is a British production Ed Winters and Luna Woods finished in 2017.
