Last Call

Scott is having a hard night. It is the anniversary of his son’s death. The man has a problem with drink. That night he means to call a crisis line. But he dials the number wrongly. The call lands somewhere else. Beth is the one who answers. Beth is a woman raising a child on her own. At night she cleans at a community college. The two of them start talking. The conversation runs at the same pace as real time. The film was shot in two places at once, each in a single take. The screen splits in two and both ends are seen together. Sarah Booth and Daved Wilkins take the leads in Gavin Michael Booth’s Canadian and American coproduction of 2020.
