What Late for Dinner Is About
In the early sixties two young men, one of them in urgent need of medical care, are cryogenically frozen. They are so busy being chased by the police that they never quite grasp what is being done to them. When they wake, thirty years have passed and the world is not the one they left. W. D. Richter's 1991 film uses its science fiction premise for an emotional question rather than for suspense: if the life you left has gone on without you, is there any point in going back? Peter Berg and Brian Wimmer lead, with Marcia Gay Harden. Soft, sad and quietly played.
