Laura Pausini won Sanremo in 1993 at eighteen, and her life changed overnight. The documentary takes that moment as its starting point and asks a question: what if she had not won? It mixes real archive with staged scenes. On one side thirty years of footage, family films, concerts; on the other an imagined Laura who never became famous and stayed in her home town. The two run at once and arrive at the same question: how much of a life is choice and how much is chance. Ivan Cotroneo directs; eighty-one minutes. Pausini plays herself, and her family are in it too. Less a musician's documentary than one person's attempt to look at her own life from outside it.
