Garth Davis's 2016 film follows Saroo, separated from his family after boarding a train at five years old. He is adopted in Australia and grows up there. Years later he begins searching for where he was born. The film splits in two; the first part gives the child's journey with almost no dialogue, the second is about the search itself. It is adapted from a true story and the search was carried out on satellite maps. Dev Patel and Nicole Kidman appear, with Sunny Pawar in the first part. Who it's for: those who like true story adaptations and emotional drama. Who it's not for: viewers who will mind the drop in pace in the second part.
