What Little Malcolm and His Struggle Against the Eunuchs Is About
Malcolm is thrown out of art college. It knocks him down, and he starts building something of his own. What he builds is a small group he calls a party. Its talk is about male dominance and it stands close to fascism. The people he gathers are a few confused men. The film builds this as satire. It does not take the group seriously; their big words make them ridiculous on their own. Its target is the man’s own sense of his importance. The story is adapted from a stage play. John McEnery and Rosalind Ayres are also in the cast, and John Hurt and David Warner take the leads in Stuart Cooper’s British film of 1974.
