The sequel to Guillaume Canet's 2010 film Les Petits Mouchoirs: same director, same group of friends, nine years later. Friends who have not seen each other for more than three years reunite for Max's sixtieth birthday. In the first film this group went on holiday while one of their number was dying in hospital, and that choice stayed with all of them. This film opens the account. It was shot from March 2018 in the Arcachon basin, particularly at Cap Ferret, the same place as the first film. It opened on 1 May 2019 in Belgium, France and French-speaking Switzerland. François Cluzet, Marion Cotillard and Gilles Lellouche return to their roles. Who it is for: viewers who saw the first film and want a closing account for this group. Who it is not for: anyone starting the series here. The film rests almost entirely on the guilt from the first one; without that context most of the scenes float.
