The film watches a group of friends in their late thirties across three years and eight separate parties: New Year’s Eve, a housewarming, midsummer, a wedding, a surprise party, a naming, an anniversary and a birthday. We do not see what happens in between; at each party the relationships stand somewhere other than where the last scene left them, and the viewer fills the gap. Each of them carries a definition of perfect love, and by the end of the three years all of them have to write that definition again. Mille Lehfeldt and Trine Dyrholm appear in May el-Toukhy’s hundred minute Danish film; it was completed in 2015.
