What Look Both Ways Is About

A hot weekend in an Australian town. Meryl, coming back from her father's funeral, witnesses a fatal train accident. Nick, sent to photograph it, was told that week that he has cancer. Andy, the reporter who will write it up, learns that his girlfriend is pregnant. Four lives touch each other over a few days. Sarah Watt's Australian film shows the disaster scenarios in its characters' heads through hand-drawn animation; the fear becomes visible without being put into words. Watt came from animation and this was her first feature. William McInnes and Justine Clarke take the leads. The film is about death but it is not bleak.
