While the parties at the villa go on, the most powerful man in the country is looking for a way back into office. The crowd around him no longer promises him anything. This is the second part of a two-film work and does not stand without the first. It turns inward compared to the first; the narrative leaves the spectacle and looks at a marriage and at loneliness. The closing uses footage of a real disaster. Paolo Sorrentino directed, with Toni Servillo. For international release the two parts were combined into a single shortened version. A real warning: there is drug use and a great deal of explicit sex. Note which version you are watching; the shortened cut is markedly different.
