Lost Boys of Sudan

The documentary follows two young Sudanese men, Peter Dut and Santino Chuor. Both lost their families in the civil war and took to the road as boys. With thousands of other children they reached a refugee camp in Kenya. Years later they were selected to travel to the United States. The film tells that journey and what comes after the arrival. In America the hunger and the danger are behind them. But there is another matter now: being foreign, and being alone. They stand between the abundance of suburban life and their own past. Megan Mylan and Jon Shenk’s American documentary, eighty seven minutes long, was completed in 2003.
