What Loud Connection Is About
Seven friends gather at a country house. Over dinner somebody proposes a game: everyone puts their phone on the table, every message that arrives is read out loud, every call is taken on speaker. Nobody objects, because each of them either believes they have nothing to hide or has to appear to believe it. As the night goes on, every relationship at that table cracks. Alexey Nuzhnyy's film is the Russian version of the Italian Perfetti sconosciuti. Dozens of versions of the same screenplay have been made around the world; what differs here is what a secret costs in Russia. Ninety-six minutes and effectively one table.
