When the Pixies broke up in 1992 it was an unexpected end for their fans. The band came back together in 2004 and went out on tour. This documentary follows that tour: rehearsals, bus journeys, backstage, and four people trying to get used to being in the same room twelve years later. The shows are full, but the distance between them does not close. Matthew Galkin's film does not take the celebratory tone usual in music documentaries. Black Francis, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago and David Lovering barely speak to each other in front of the camera, and that silence is what the film is most talked about for. The telling blames nobody; it just shows that a band coming back does not make things what they were.
