Louis Theroux: Inside the Manosphere

Louis Theroux's first project for Netflix, the move of a documentarian who spent decades at the BBC. The subject is the manosphere: the online network of creators producing hyper-masculinity, red-pill rhetoric and hard positions on women. Theroux meets them face to face; the camera follows them working, camping, meeting their followers. His method is what it always is, and it works here: he does not argue, he asks calm questions and waits to see how far the person opposite will go in their own words. Because he does not pick a fight, people keep talking. The film's real concern is not these figures themselves but their effect in schools and among young men. Theroux describes the rhetoric as carrying misogynistic, homophobic, antisemitic and racist elements. Adrian Choa directed. It went out worldwide on 11 March 2026. Before you watch, know this: the film gives its subjects a great deal of screen time and does not balance every statement with a counter-argument. That is deliberate, but the viewer has to bring their own filter.
