What Innocence Is About

Yusuf comes out of prison after ten years with nowhere to go. In a cheap hotel he meets Bekir, Uğur and her daughter; Bekir has been fixed on Uğur for years, while Uğur is bound to another man in prison and follows him from city to city. Each of the three has an innocence of their own, and each of them destroys the others. Demirkubuz films it plainly, in long takes, in rooms filled with the sound of a television. One of the hardest Turkish films of the nineties. The earlier story of the same characters was told in Kader in 2006.
