Matinée

Jorge and Aaron, growing up in a quiet provincial town, often skip school to go together to the afternoon showing at the cinema. One day the truck they are travelling in is stopped by robbers and the two boys are held. As the gang breaks up the boys begin taking part in the robberies, and the adventure turns towards somewhere darker. The relationship between the two men who remain is part of the story too, and is not hidden. Jaime Humberto Hermosillo looks through the eyes of the children and shows where adventure ends and danger begins at the speed they understand it. The ninety eight minute Mexican film was completed in 1977 and took the prize for best film at home.
