Mavi Gözlü Dev

The film is about the years Nâzım Hikmet spent in prison after 1941. The poet had been convicted on a charge of communist propaganda. Inside, his name spreads by word of mouth and he becomes a legend. A circle of friends forms around him, drawn by his poetry and his painting. But the only thing on Nâzım’s mind is his wife Piraye. He has had no word from her for a long time. The poverty of the war years is felt inside the prison as well. Then the news he has been waiting for arrives: his sentence of twenty eight years has been upheld. Yetkin Dikinciler and Dolunay Soysert take the leads in Biket İlhan’s Turkish film of 2007.
