Men Don't Cry

The film is set in the Balkans after the war. The armed conflicts of the nineties left great destruction behind. That destruction was not limited to the land. Deep wounds were opened in the memory of every side. How that past is read changes from country to country. Less than twenty years have passed since the war ended. A group of veterans gathers at a hotel in the mountains. They come from different sides. They are there for a therapy lasting several days. The atmosphere is tense from the start. A single word or look could set everything off. The men choose to stay silent for a long time. But that silence is broken in the end. Leon Lučev and Emir Hadžihafizbegović take the leads in Alen Drljević’s Bosnian, Croatian, German and Slovenian coproduction of 2017.
