What Mercenaries from Hong Kong Is About
A man back from Vietnam is now living as a mercenary who takes work for money. He is asked to track down an assassin who murdered a Hong Kong industrialist and fled to Cambodia. He puts a team together for the job, and he builds it out of the action players of the day. But once they set off nothing turns out to be what he was told, and the real question becomes a different one: which of them is the traitor? The film comes out of the action vein of the Shaw studio in the eighties and moves by turning its crowded cast against itself. Ti Lung and Lo Lieh appear in Wong Jing’s ninety minute Hong Kong film, completed in 1982.
