What Minecraft: The Story of Mojang Is About
The documentary follows Mojang through its first year. Markus Persson puts a game he wrote by himself on the internet, it starts selling before it is finished, and within a short time it reaches millions of people. A small Swedish company turns overnight into a name the whole world is discussing. The film was shot from inside the company: meetings, updates, the moments decisions were made, and the strain that growth brings with it. Paul Owens directs. Persson, Jens Bergensten and Carl Manneh speak, along with figures from the games industry such as Peter Molyneux and Tim Schafer, and players themselves. It is less a success story than a record of how quickly that success arrived.
