What Morgan Is About
Morgan was a bicycle racer; after an accident he was left paralysed from the waist down. He has got used to the wheelchair but has no intention of changing his life. He meets Dean on a basketball court and something starts between them. Dean trains him, with the aim of entering the same race in which he had his accident. When Morgan is ready to risk everything to win, Dean pulls away. Michael D. Akers's independent film carries two subjects at once: disability and being gay. It shows neither as a problem but as part of the character's life. It is a small production and the actors are not well known. The strongest thing in it is Morgan dealing with his own anger: he does not want pity and he will not accept help.
