What Müllers Büro Is About
Max Müller is a private detective whose business is not doing well. A beautiful but tight lipped client, a woman called Ingrid Bergmann, asks him to find her missing fiancé. With his assistant Larry, Müller dives into the underworld, and in time it becomes clear that his client is not who she appears to be. The film takes every mould of film noir and turns it into a musical parody; the songs take the place of the investigation. The account plays openly with the viewer and declares from the start that it will not take the genre seriously. Christian Schmidt plays the lead in Niki List’s hundred and four minute Austrian film, completed in 1986.
