Munich - The Edge of War

A film set during the Munich conference of 1938. Hugh works in the British prime minister's private office. Paul works in the German foreign ministry. The two studied together at Oxford and have not spoken for years. Paul has a document: a record showing that believing Hitler will stop after Czechoslovakia is a mistake. He wants to get it to the British, and the only person he trusts is Hugh. The conference convenes in Munich. The two men are in the same city, in the same days, trying to meet between their official duties. What the film is interested in is the agreement itself. Chamberlain is generally remembered now for giving way; the narrative proposes a different reading and argues over what the time bought was worth.
