November Child

In 1980, in the East German town of Malchow, twenty year old Anne is hiding Juri, a deserter from the Red Army. The two of them fall in love. But there is a warrant out for Juri and a death sentence is possible. The pair leave the country and flee to the West. Anne leaves her six month old daughter Inga behind. Inga grows up with her grandparents, brought up to believe her mother died in a swimming accident. Twenty five years later she meets Robert, a literature professor, and is put on the trail of her past. Robert had met Anne years before, in one of his seminars. The two of them set off across Germany looking for her. Christian Schwochow’s ninety five minute German film was completed in 2008.
