Mynaa

Suruli is in prison, thinking about Mynaa, whom he has loved since childhood. When her mother sets about marrying her to a man working in Dubai, Suruli makes a threat and is given a fifteen-day sentence, and the wedding is arranged for the day before his release. He breaks out and takes to the road, with two policemen behind him. The film does not turn that chase into a romantic comedy; it hardens towards the end. Prabhu Solomon wrote and directed it. Vidharth plays Suruli and Amala Paul plays Mynaa, and Thambi Ramaiah, as the constable Ramaiah, won the national film award for best supporting actor for this film. It was named best film at the fifty-eighth Filmfare Awards South.
