What National Theatre Live: All About Eve Is About

The recording is a live filming of a stage production. From the moment Eve Harrington catches sight of Margo Channing, the great actress she admires, at the stage door, she decides to take her place. She works her way closer step by step, takes over the Broadway role and becomes a sensation overnight, throwing into confusion the lives of Margo’s director boyfriend, the playwright and his wife along the way. The only one who sees through her is the cynical theatre critic, who even admires her nerve. Gillian Anderson and Lily James appear in the hundred and thirty two minute recording by Ivo van Hove and Nick Wickham, completed in 2019.
