What National Theatre Live: Inter Alia Is About
A theatre recording of the play staged by Justin Martin. Jessica Parks is a Crown Court judge at the height of her career; at home she runs another order altogether, as wife and mother. The play collides the two. At its centre is whether someone who rules on other people's lives can apply the same measure when an event reaches her own house; the text does not make the answer easy. Rosamund Pike takes the lead and is almost never off stage. The narrative includes passages spoken straight to the audience. The recording was taken from a live performance. Who it's for: those who like filmed theatre and performance-driven work. Who it's not for: viewers expecting cinematic storytelling; this is a record of a stage production.
