What No Mercy for the Rude Is About
There is a mute hitman. His tongue has been wrong since birth, he wants the surgery, and he cannot afford it. So he works, and he has given himself a rule: he only kills people who are rude. Bullies, pimps, dealers, whoever qualifies by his measure. Then a woman and a child come into his life and the rule stops working. Park Cheol-hee keeps the black comedy and the violence in the same register, and it turns unexpectedly sad in between. Shin Ha-kyun carries a character who does not speak entirely on his face. One of the odder things Korean cinema produced in the 2000s.
