Noah Kahan: Out of Body

Noah Kahan arrived somewhere unexpected with one album. When Stick Season came out nobody expected attention on that scale; the songs spread online, the tour grew and stadiums filled. The documentary follows what came after. Kahan returns to Vermont; he works on a new album where he grew up. The tour continues at the same time. The camera follows him on stage, at home, with his family and in therapy. Its subject is not the success but what the success did to him. Nick Sweeney directs. Noah Kahan and his family appear. The documentary follows the preparation of the new album The Great Divide. It premiered at SXSW in 2026 and won the audience award in the music section. It was released on 13 April 2026. The narrative takes mental health as a direct subject; the sections about anxiety and how he sees his body are at its centre. The family sections are open; his parents and siblings give their own side. Kahan writes his songs from his own life and the documentary shows that relation directly. Its limit is viewpoint; it was made with the artist's approval and the critical distance is limited. Who it is for: viewers who like music documentary and portraits of artists. Who it is not for: the subject is heavy, the viewpoint partisan, and it is closed to anyone who does not know the music.
