What Norbourg Is About
In mid-2000s Quebec, Vincent Lacroix, the head of the investment firm Norbourg, embezzles the money of thousands of investors, in the end more than a hundred and thirty million dollars. Éric Asselin, the inspector assigned to keep watch over the firm, becomes fascinated by Lacroix’s nerve, leaves his post and turns into his right hand man. The hole grows as the two of them fend off the audits, but once the company is surrounded on every side it is over. Lacroix was in fact tried and convicted, and the name Norbourg has stayed in Quebec as the name of a large financial scandal. Vincent-Guillaume Otis and François Arnaud appear in Maxime Giroux’s hundred and nineteen minute Canadian film; it was completed in 2022.
