One Day on Earth

The documentary was filmed in every country in the world on one day. A span of twenty four hours was recorded. The footage was gathered from many different places. The film offers slices from inside that day. Births, deaths and ordinary work sit side by side. Some people are followed through the day. Wide montages come in between. Those montages follow the cycle of life. Events happening at the same hour are set against each other. The distance between countries becomes plain. The project was founded in 2008. Its aim was to look into the identity of the planet. The question it asks is simple, who are we. The documentary closes on an optimistic note. Vincent Miedema and Tenzin Gyatso appear in the one hundred four minute documentary. It is an American production Kyle Ruddick finished in 2012.
